If they keep their current pace, they’ll approach 130 points. That is less than double their current number of points. They have more games on the road than at home in the second half of the season. They haven’t lost a game regular time at home and their four losses have come on the road.

The Bruins have the most expected points as they began the year stronger than the Maple Leafs. The Kraken is still doing alright but is sliding.

It’s still early in the season so the predicted standings can move quite a bit from one week to the next. Nonetheless, we are starting to see who the dominant teams are this season. Finally, I got around running my model for the 2022-23 season. It’s the same model as last year except that I also include information from last season, although the weight given to it is small. Given that 7-0 win and the Avalanche winning the first game as well, it now has 87% probability of winning the Cup. I don’t think the Lightning will make it easy to them though. However, my model found that the Rangers were favourite to reach the finals after winning the first two games against the Lightning. It was quite a turnaround for the Lightning to comeback and win the next four games.
