Predictions for the 2021-22 season

The Avalanche is still the favorite to win the President’s trophy, with the same expected number of points as the Panthers. The Flames, who just beat the Avalanche in overtime, are favorite to win the Stanley Cup.

According to the predictions below, it’s pretty much a done deal who the 16 teams making the playoffs will be. In the West, there is a six points gap between the expected number of points for the Kings and the Canucks for the last place available. In the East, there is an eleven points gap between the Capitals and the Blue Jackets.

Power ranking

The Flames are back on top. They lost to the Canadiens but won the next game against the Avalanche. The Canucks have been playing well and are up to 10th place in the power ranking. However, that might be too little too late, as they likely won’t make the playoffs (see table above).
