NHL predictions and rankings - April 23, 2023

The following takes into account the games played up to Saturday, April 22. There are 3 games played in each series.

Predictions for the 2022-23 season

The Bruins are the still the favourites but a few other teams have improved their odds of winning the Cup.

  • Bruins (90.2%) vs Panthers (9.8%): The Bruins are leading 2-1. The probability have barely changed given the Panthers playing well.

  • Maple Leafs (80.1%) vs Lightning (19.9%): The Leafs are leading 2-1. Surprisingly, the Leafs have rebounded following their bad loss in game 1. They also escaped with the win last night in a game they should not have won.

  • Hurricanes (72.9%) vs Islanders (27.1%): The Hurricanes are leading 2-1.

  • Devils (17.2%) vs Ranger (82.8%): The Rangers are leading 2-1. The Devils won last night but I’m not sure they’ll win another game

  • Avalanche (79.0%) vs Kraken (21.0%): The Avalanche is leading 2-1. The Kraken has been doing better than I expected.

  • Stars (41.6%) vs Wild (58.4%): The Wild is leading 2-1. The Wild might steal this series from the Stars.

  • Golden Knights (80.8%) vs Jets (19.2%): The Golden Knights are leading 2-1.

  • Oilers (42.7%) vs Kings (57.3%): The Kings are leading 2-1. It’s not looking good for the Oilers. I hope they can get their offense going again.
