Predictions for the 2021-22 season

The predictions below were performed without the data for game 3 of the Eastern Finals. The Lightning won that game 3-2. The table below gives the Rangers a 86.7% probability of winning the East but effectively it is lower than that given the Lightning’s win. Still, the Rangers are the favorite to win the series, quite a reversal from before that series started.

In the West, it’s pretty much a done deal for the Avalanche to reach the Finals. Leading the series 3-0, the Avalanche has a 97.3% probability of winning the series against the Oilers. The Avalanche is now also a heavy favorite to win the Cup.

The Avalanche really is the king of the mountain right now, standing at the top apart from the other teams. The Rangers climbed to the third spot, the Lightning in fourth and the Oilers in eighth.
